You may have trouble starting the car when the battery needs to be replaced. This is because a failing battery may not have enough power to get the engine to start or start quickly. Having trouble starting your car can also point to lots of other problems such as issues with your ignition system, starter, or alternator.
However, your battery is probably causing the problem if you can jumpstart your car to get it running or if you hear a clicking sound when you attempt to start the car, but the car doesn’t start.
Corrosion Problems
Look at your battery regularly to inspect it for corrosion. If you’re having problems with corrosion that keeps appearing on your terminals and won’t stay away for long, then you have a problem with your battery. Having a lot of corrosion on your battery can make the battery perform worse, and it can also be a sign that your battery is leaking.
Swelling Problems
If your battery swells up, then you need to get to the dealer ASAP. If there’s something wrong with the battery, then one of the first things that might happen is the battery case swelling or cracking. Things will only get worse after that happens.
