Anstead Mystery Hole has been blowing the minds of visitors from around the world ever since it opened in 1973. Here, objects roll uphill, chairs float, and water flows backward!
The Mystery Hole is located in Anstead, half an hour’s drive from Summersville. Please note, no cell phones or cameras are allowed inside the attraction. There’s also a range of sideshows and a gift shop offering a good variety of souvenirs.
4. West Virginia State Museum
This venerable old museum is the go-to cultural establishment for those interested in learning about the state’s history and culture. Offering a range of fascinating exhibits, everything from Native American artifacts to a 100-year-old flea circus are on display!
